Cars made by Japanese car manufacturer Toyota are more popular in Bangladesh. Recently, Toyota's Aqua and Exeo hybrid cars have been seen a lot. We cannot read the Japanese language manuals that come with these cars. So one has to rely on the words of drivers, garage mechanics, motor parts dealers. Most of them do not have a good idea about hybrid cars. As a result, he gave the advice of the hybrid car.
Hybrid cars are fuel efficient and environment friendly. Hybrid cars last twice as long as conventional petrol cars. Oil-only car engines usually begin to suffer within 7-8 years. In comparison, a hybrid car's engine can run trouble-free for 12-15 years if properly maintained.
Maintenance of hybrid vehicles
Engine Oil: Toyota recommends using 2 grades or quality of engine oil for Aqua and Exeo hybrid vehicles. These two are 0W-20 and 5W-30.
Toyota also recommends using 0W-20 engine oil in some cases for new vehicles with zero mileage. Usually five years old cars are more common in our country, so I am not discussing about this engine oil.
If your vehicle's mileage is 150,000 km or less, you should use full synthetic 0W-20 grade engine oil. You can use 0W-30 or 0W-40 for cars with more than 150,000 km but less than 300,000 km. 5W-30 grade engine oil should be used after 3 lakh kms. Be sure to buy fully synthetic oil, regardless of the brand, it must be original.
When to change engine oil
Many people throw out engine oil after 3000 kilometers of driving, which is not right at all. You should change the engine oil after a minimum of six thousand kilometers. The maximum period or limit of original engine oil is up to 10 thousand kilometers.
Oil filter
One of the most important parts of the car is the oil filter, which we call the 'kidney of the car'. Most of the time the car is ruined by installing a cheap filter. Many people bought filters worth 60 taka for 300 taka. And the car continues to suffer. There is no compromise when it comes to oil filters.
In the context of Bangladesh it is better to use Toyota original oil filter YZZ-2. The filter should be changed every 6,000 to 10,000 km.
Air filter
You can use the original air filter if you want. Part Number: 17801-21060. In the context of Bangladesh it is best to use one per month of good quality filters available in the market. Even very expensive filters cannot run for six months in the dusty conditions of Dhaka.
AC or cabin filter
You can buy original cabin filters like air filters. But you can also use a good quality filter available in the market every month.
Aqua and Axio brakes
First of all, the question comes, how many days to change the brake pad, brake shoe? But more important than this question, after how many days to change the brake oil? Why?
In our country, the problem of brake boosters in Aqua and Exeo hybrid cars is becoming an epidemic. Some of the reasons are given below.
- Brake Booster is more than 10 years old
- Not changing brake oil
- Using wrong grade of brake pads
- Wheel jam
What to do to keep brake boosters in good condition
A new (brand new) brake booster should be purchased if it goes bad.
- Those who drive in Dhaka, Sylhet and Chittagong cities should change the brake oil properly once every 9 months (or 30,000 km). Failure to properly change brake oil will do more harm than good. Toyota recommends using DOT-3 grade brake oil. If dot5.1 is not available for Bangladesh, dot-4 can be used. Brake oil must be genuine or original. Drivers in other areas should change the brake oil once a year or 50,000 kilometers (whichever comes first).
- Every year during the rainy season or after the end of the rainy season, it is better to check whether the wheels are jammed or not in the garage.
- Friction grade of hybrid car brake pads is FG. And the part number of the brake pad is 04465-52320. 04465-47070 can be used as an alternative if it is not found for any reason.
